Zoila friendii friendii (Gray, 1831).
70.8 mm, F+.
Australia.
Extraordinarily RARE white based specimen! In fine condition only, but that's ok because it still shows very nicely. In other Z. friendii ssp., shells with white or cream bases occur, but I have never seen a white base in the nominate species. Nor have I been able to find this variety imaged in the literature, attesting to the extreme rarity. For most collectors this shell is just a rumor!
